The faculty of Canisius College includes a wide array of experienced and well-educated men and women committed to teaching in the Jesuit tradition of excellence. More than 93 percent of our 217 full-time professors hold a PhD or terminal degree, and many faculty members have years of practical, work-related experience.
We believe the greatest results in teaching come from a close bond between teacher and student, forged in an intimate classroom environment. That is why our student to teacher ratio is 12:1. The strong link between faculty and students also allows them to work together to prepare and publish a variety of works in an academic setting.
Members of our faculty are regularly published in some of the most prestigious and respected scholastic publications in the nation. They also share their expertise in seminars and conferences worldwide.
Most important, however, are the examples faculty members show their students which go beyond the classroom. The faculty provides Canisius students with a model of excellence for which to strive, even after graduation.
